Soft launch vs Product Hunt — what worked for you?
I've been wrestling with this for Koofie. Soft launch to get feedback, fix the rough edges, then PH? Or PH cold for the spike?
My gut says soft launch first. But everyone says PH dies after 24h, so timing matters. Curious what you all did.

Soft launch every time. The PH spike is real but it lasts a day. The compounding from a small group of early users who actually use the thing daily is worth way more.
We did 3 weeks of private beta on Liloo before going public — caught 4-5 deal-breakers we'd never have spotted in a launch sprint.
Yeah that's where I'm leaning. Three weeks feels right. Did you gate it with a code or just slow-walk traffic?
Code-gated. Sent the link to ~30 people from my list with a personal note. 18 came in, 11 stayed active. That's the cohort whose feedback we shipped.
